After 13 games played, the LUB have composed the groups to play “Super League” and “Permanencia”. Trouville, Malvin, H&Macabi, D.Sporting, Goes, Bigua, Welcome and L.Borges will play in the 1st Group, and Bohemios, U.Universitario, Aguada, Atenas, Olimpia and Tabare will play the Permanencia Group.
During the 1st stage, our players have consistent performances.
Kennedy Winston, is doing a great job with Malvin, in both tournaments played: LUB and LSB. In the LUB he played in 13 games, averaging 33 minutes, 15 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4 assists, with 37.5% from 3-point line and 75% from the FT line. His best performance was against Aguada on October 31st where he had 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. In his last game in a win against Hebraica & Macabi, he had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Kennedy is Malvin’s top scorer and 2nd in efficiency. In the LSB, Malvin was near to get the Final, but they finished in the 3rd position. Kennedy played 6 games averaging 33 minutes, 13.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists. His best game was against Uniceub Brasilia, where he scored 25 points and added 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Starting in January 2016, Malvin will play the LDA 2016.
The other import player from Malvin, Samuel Hoskin, had a very good 1st stage. He arrived hours before the Malvin’s 1st game of the LUB, and as he was adjusting to the team his contribution got better. He played in 11 games, averaging 26.5 minutes, 13.1 points and 7.2 rebounds, with 65% FGP and 88% from the FT line. In the last 3 games, he had doubles-doubles and had his best performance against Trouville, when he scored 19 points and added 10 rebounds. In the LSB, he also had a good performance, playing in 5 games and averaging 20 minutes, 12 points and 4.3 rebounds.
Gary Hamilton, came to help Bohemios to qualify to the Super League. It was a possibility to make 1st stage until the last game. Now, they will play in the Permanencia stage. As usual, Gary provided the team with the defensive presence and his good IQ on the offensive side of the game. He played 13 games, averaging 34 minutes, 9.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 blocks. His best game was against Welcome days ago, when he scored 13 points and grabbed 22 rebounds. He had fice double-doubles, and is 2nd in rebounds in the LUB and the Bohemios’ most valuable player with a efficiency of 21 points.
Tommie Eddie played the last five Welcome games and helped the team obtain the first objective they have for this season: play the Super League. After winning the Uruguayan Metropolitan Tournament with Cordon, Tommie had to return to the U.S. due to some personal, but soon after he returned to Uruguay to play with Welcome in the LUB. Hours after his arrival in Montevideo, he played the first game against U.Universitario, and had an amazing performance with 31 points and efficiency of 27. In these 5 games, he averaged 26.4 minutes, 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, with 66.7% FGP, 35.3% from the 3-point line and 67% from the charity stripe.
In the next days, another two players placed by our Agency, will be arriving to Montevideo to play in the LUB: Eloy Vargas with Defensor Sporting and Benjamin Puckett with Bigua.
